California is renowned for its long and storied history in film and television production as the home of Hollywood and many of the world’s largest studios.4 Major music and sound recording companies, publishers, design schools, and performing arts venues are found throughout the state, reflecting California’s prominent role in the creative industries.

In 2023, California was home to approximately 220K creative economy jobs, one in every four in the U.S.5
